Rack Raid Results 27th May 2012
Posted on May 28, 2012 under Club Events | 21 CommentsA big thank you to everyone who took part, conditions were very hot.
I ran the first leg at 7.30am and believe me it was warming up that early, so the runners who were running mid day I take my hat off to you all.
There were so many of you that gave so much, it’s probably unfair to name people. But I am sure you will agree Peter Coles 3rd , Richard Day, Will Denny and Ross Fripp 2nd did a great job on the long legs of 12.4 and 13.8 Miles respectively.
Also a big thank you to our oldest runner Brian Gough Vet 70 and our youngest Kyle Davies (young) who did us proud.
Our A Team were 5th overall, still awaiting full results.
We still have two legs uncovered in the B Team, if any members wish to run please contact me ASAP.
The pick up time will be 8am from the Llanover in Pontypridd, please make sure you are there in plenty of time so that the bus can make it’s way to Abergavenny and the 4th leg.

Will I be able to leave a bag with food and drink with the person on the next leg for when I finish?
May 11th, 2012 at 6:14 pm
Yes of course you can Ross can’t guarantee there will be anything left for you when you finish lol
May 11th, 2012 at 7:08 pm
haha. i’ll do the 12+ mile leg, just can’t guarantee it’ll be that quick as the last 2-3 months i’ve reduced my miles for speed and haven’t run over 11 miles for a few months now, should be able for sub 7mins/mile without too many problems though….i hope. i’ll just see if i can beat rhodrey’s time last year lol.
i have found the info online for it and found the route on google maps so should be alright. see you tuesday.

dont leave the bag with pounder or there will be nothing left! prepare for some abuse off the bus………….
May 12th, 2012 at 10:27 am
Oi derek! im not like that. Dont worry Ross, there will be a stack of cans up to your waist on the bus for you to replenish your strength with.

Thanks Andy, it was really tough out there on that leg, there was no cloud cover for the whole 12.4 miles and i was really struggling in the last 1.5 miles or so. i told you i wasn’t going to push too hard but when someone told me 2nd place was only a few hundred metres ahead with 5 miles to go and said he looked tired i thought why not try! well done to everyone who did it, none of the legs were easy.
