The runners world can be best described as the purest form of Sport there is, after all you are competing against yourself and the clock and this is where the fun starts.

Entrance to the runners world has running kit costs of next to nothing to start, just a pair of trainers and shorts, and is probably the simplest form of fitness training there is.

If you like to compete or just fun run, then the runners world will give you more events to enter than any other sport. Choose from 5K, 10k, Marathon, Fell running, half marathons the list is almost endless with races and events nearly every weekend of the year.

In all these events regardless of where you finish, you are competing against your fellow man and that is what makes the runners world addictive.

As a runner your are reliant on no one but yourself, this is no team sport. Even in relay events your are on your own, sure you will be encouraged by other members but at the end of the day its down to you.

When you first enter the runners world, you quickly find it becomes addictive to the point that your no longer satisfied with past times, the urge to improve is overwhelming and competitive.

There is the constant urge to improve, constantly looking for running tips and advice in magazines and on the web, but more than that running becomes fun and addictive.

Running gives you time to think as the miles and the time clock up, and very occasionally when your thinking of something, you enter a nirvana like state, where you are not even aware of the miles going by. This is your reward for all that hard work and spurs you on..
